On May 31, over 60 CWA members and friends from the Central West celebrated out 90th birthday in the newly refurbished Canowindra CWA hall.

The party commenced with a Welcome by Canowindra CWA President – Bev Taylor.

This was followed by a Prayer of Thanksgiving delivered by the Rev. Jono Williams (see preceding post).

After an enthusiastic rendition of the National Anthem, Councillor Anthony Durkin spoke on behalf of Cabonne Council, followed by addresses from CWA Central West Group Vice President Helen James, and CWA Central West group Secretary Helana Donaldson.

Gwen Wythes  and Jill Mc Donald reminisced about times gone by, and Jemima Reid  gave an account of her experiences as a new member. Nerida Cuddy then sang one of her own compositions titled “Women Of The Bush” .

Canowindra CWA then provided one of the memorable lunches and the afternoon concluded with the cutting of the 90th birthday cake by life member Flo Nash.

A wonderful time was had by all.
