Hosted by Lodge Canowindra, the second Christmas-in-July Progressive Dinner was once again voted an outstanding success and raised over $2000 for the CWA Hall Restoration Fund.
Entrees and nibbles were served to 60 revellers at the CWA Rooms. They then walked around the corner for mains at ‘Eddys of Canowindra’ (formerly the Old Convent) and then onto the Services Club for desserts.
The loan of the Convent was a real coup for the organisers. The building has lots of charm and historical interest and has been recently renovated as a self catering guesthouse. Thus the dinner provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the renovations to future patrons.
The Masonic Lodge of Canowindra members and their wives worked tirelessly throughout this event and we are extremely grateful for their generosity. As usual there were lots of willing and enthusiastic CWA members to assist with the catering and the Christmas decorating.
Thanks also to Mark Gardner who provided us with the first class venue, and to Lawrence’s IGA for the turkeys, the Trading Post for the “Christmas gifts” and to Gardner’s Ground and Hamilton’s Bluff for their fine wines.
