Welcome to the Canowindra CWA Branch website
The Canowindra branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) is an active group that helps the local community and provides a place of friendship for women of Canowindra. Recipient of the Canowindra Community Group of the Year Award 2020, the group is going from strength to strength in over ten decades of operation.
Throughout the last 100 years Canowindra CWA has given service to our community. During the year of 2019, we weathered one of the worst droughts on record, the effects of the bush fires, and the impact of COVID19. Following the devastating floods of Nov 2022, members packed and distributed care packages , pamper packs for farmers’ wives and most recently assisted with the flood relief effort in Canowindra and Eugowra.
Throughout these events, our members have been resilient and helped the community with a happy smile. It gives us immense pleasure to see the happy smiles and tears of joy.

In Canowindra we meet once a month on the fourth Thursday, and participate in many different activities from fundraising, handicrafts and cultural activities and discuss current social or environmental issues.
About Our Branch
Founded in 1924. The Canowindra CWA seek to improve conditions & welfare of women and to empower women in our community, through fellowship, transfer of new and traditional skills and community support. The group meets every fourth Thursday in the month with the exception of December and January. This group of women are a highly active – they are a group of all ages and welcome mothers, professional women, retirees and women from all cultures and walks of life
Hall for Hire
The CWA Hall s available for hire for one off events/functions/workshops/gatherings and for regular hiring arrangements. An annex is available for hire to suitable health care professionals such as podiatry, massage etc. Both the hall and anne) are air-conditioned. The kitchen is a fully equipped commercial kitchen including a stove, dishwasher, freezer and fridge. The kitchen has a supply of glasses, crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment for your use.
Community Involvement
The Canowindra CWA are involved with the wider Canowindra community, raising funds and providing support for education, healthcare, scholarships, the sick, the elderly and the disadvantaged.

Catering services
Canowindra CWA are happy to offer catering for all types of occasions. We have cooked and baked for small morning teas through to weddings and functions for over 100 guests. Find out More and Enquire

Members receive our bi-monthly journal, The Country Woman and a regular e-news.
